About Jay BECKEL
Mr. Beckel is an experienced Insurance Risk Engineering professional who performs on-site risk assessments and helps clients develop strategies to manage risks before, during, and after incidents. As a Property Risk Engineering expert, Mr. Beckel provides specific recommendations to company leaders so they can take timely risk avoidance and mitigation actions and make better loss prevention strategy decisions in various chemicals industry segments including the Biofuels industry. In addition, Mr. Beckel is a Certified Safety Professional with a robust background in process operations and hazards assessment, risk analysis, incident investigations, equipment reliability and maintenance, and safety program improvements. He has made significant contributions to improving employers’ loss control efforts through targeted communications plans and comprehensive employee and contractor training with a focus on credible low probability-high consequence event scenarios and each client company’s particular needs and circumstances.
Mr. Beckel has extensive expertise in process safety management and engineering, asset integrity (with certifications in API 510, 570, 653), hazardous materials management, and project management. Additionally, he is proficient in risk assessment and mitigation, job hazard analysis, environmental permitting and engineering, and M&A. Mr. Beckel is well-versed in ISO system management, SPCC/FRP/SWPPP, lean manufacturing, policy and procedure development, and root cause analysis. His background also includes extensive experience with radioactive materials and decontamination efforts as Radiation Safety Officer at a US DOE National Laboratory. Through a combination of technical knowledge and leadership skills, Mr. Beckel has successfully directed diverse teams and complex projects, driving significant improvements in performance and efficiency.
