A cornerstone of SOCOTEC’s digital transformation is BlueGen, a proprietary AI assistant inspired by ChatGPT, but custom-built specifically for the needs of SOCOTEC’s engineers, technicians and experts from the architecture, engineering, construction and infrastructure sectors.
Unlike generic AI tools, BlueGen is fully integrated into SOCOTEC’s daily operations and tailored to support technical workflows. Engineers use BlueGen to perform a wide range of tasks more efficiently, including:
- Generating project reports
- Extracting data from floor plans and drawings
- Analyzing large datasets
- Get relevant answers from SOCOTEC’s knowledge base
- Drafting emails or project documentation
- Refining technical language
- Translating documents

By narrowing the focus of the AI to relevant domains, we ensure that our teams get reliable, context-aware guidance expeditiously that directly supports their decisions on-site or at the office.
We work together to figure out what are the specific low value, highly repetitive tasks, automate that with custom software solutions and then from there, target the higher value tasks.
