About Mike Cuevas
Mike Cuevas is Principal at SOCOTEC, assisting the real estate industry in navigating the intricate NYC Building Codes and City agencies. Mr. Cuevas has over 30 years of experience in Code Consulting. He meets with Plan Examiners to discuss their comments and obtain approvals, works with clients to help develop projects in compliance with Building and Zoning Codes before the completion of architectural plans for submission to the City for review, and also helps Chief Inspectors and Certificate of Occupancy clerks obtain temporary and Final Certificates of Occupancy. Additionally, he meets with Commissioners and other City officials to negotiate work through various City agencies.
Mr. Cuevas files over 500 projects for architects and engineers per year.

Professional Experience
Before joining SOCOTEC, Mike Cuevas worked at RDF Consulting, where he supported Department of Buildings applications, managed filings, and coordinated with Plan Examiners to secure approvals and work permits. He later joined Conversano Associates, serving as Vice President of Field Operations and subsequently as Principal, prior to the firm’s acquisition by SOCOTEC in 2023. He now serves as a Principal at SOCOTEC within the Code & Planning team.
