LEED v5 represents a bold step forward in sustainable design. More than a checklist, LEED v5 certification integrates sustainability from a project’s inception—emphasizing climate action, equity, energy performance, health, biodiversity, and resilience.
During this workshop, attendees were able to:
Gain insight into the evolution of LEED v5, including key milestones and the restructured development cycle for future versions.
Explore the core principles that guide LEED v5 and how they shape project goals and performance metrics.
Examine updated and new prerequisites, understanding their implications for project planning and certification strategies.
Analyze revised and additional credits, with a focus on their design impact and integration across project phases.
Discuss the importance of early-stage collaboration, including feasibility studies and informed material selection to support sustainability outcomes.
The event also included an update from AIA Miami’s Resilience & Adaptation Committee, a time for networking, and food and drinks sponsored by Johns Manville.
