About Jason JIA
Jason Jia is a structural engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the development, inspection, construction administration, and design of complex structures throughout the New York metropolitan region. His expertise includes construction management, emergency response, forensic investigations, expert witness services, new and remedial structural design, complex retrofits, curtain wall systems, terra cotta, stone and brick façade restoration, and fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite repairs.
Jason is a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) for New York City's Local Law 11 Façade Inspection & Safety Program (FISP) and a Qualified Parking Structure Inspector (QPSI) for Local Law 126 parking structure inspections. Licensed in 12 states, he also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Architecture at Pratt Institute, where he shares his expertise with the next generation of design professionals.

Jason Jia joined SOCOTEC in 2026 as Director, as part of our New York Building Envelope team. Prior to joining SOCOTEC, he held a variety of engineering and leadership positions, working on both new construction and existing building projects. With more than 20 years of experience, Jason has developed extensive expertise in façade and parking structure inspections, structural design, forensic engineering, and the rehabilitation of existing buildings.
