The Challenge

Closing a Vital Regional Landfill

Operated by the Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority (GLRA), Lebanon Landfill is a state-of-the-art, seven-cell, double-lined landfill complex serving more than 143,000 residents across 25 municipalities in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.

As part of its long-term solid waste management strategy, GLRA entered the final stages of Cell 7 closure, marking a significant milestone in the site’s lifecycle.

Closure cap construction is a critical phase designed to address environmental protection, long-term stability, and regulatory compliance.

The work aligns with GLRA’s broader commitment to sustainability, which includes advanced compaction equipment, GPS technology, and progressive land management practices supporting waste diversion and ecological stewardship.
