About Amir SOLTANI

Mr. Amir Soltani is a Principal Engineer at SOCOTEC with extensive experience in structural engineering, specializing in bridge design, infrastructure rehabilitation, and seismic analysis. His areas of expertise include structural and bridge engineering, seismic design, infrastructure rehabilitation, quality control and assurance, and advanced structural analysis. With over 15 years of U.S.-based professional experience, Mr. Soltani has managed significant infrastructure projects including the North Du Sable Lake Shore Drive reconstruction in Chicago, multiple IDOT bridge rehabilitation initiatives, and various Chicago DOT projects involving bascule bridges, viaducts, and pedestrian underpasses.

Prior to joining SOCOTEC, Mr. Soltani served in various lead structural positions in the industry. His academic background includes serving as an Assistant Professor at Purdue University. Mr. Soltani holds a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Science in Seismic Design and Earthquake Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He has authored numerous technical articles and journal papers focused on structural engineering innovations, particularly in high-strength reinforcing steel applications and vibration control systems. His research contributions include work published in the ASCE Journal of Bridge Engineering and participation in NCHRP reports for the National Academy of Sciences.
